The name Basement Wrestling League implies a certain underground quality. Not in the sense of operating below the radar of the authorities; it’s too famous for that. In this case it simply refers to the location of the original ring, Tania’s basement. But there’s also the connotation of being at the bottom of the list, and that certainly applies to today’s two contenders.

Louise and Olivier have the poorest won-lost records of any woman and man in the League. Whoever loses this battle will only dig him-or herself deeper into the hole. The winner won’t do him- or herself all that much good, either. But that doesn’t mean this will be a dull fight—far from it, these two cellar dwellers are desperate for a victory and will stop at nothing to achieve one.
